Keep It Simple – Forget The Fluff & Get To The Point!

Have you ever noticed some of the most successful websites or online services are extremely simple?

Craigslist – Extremely boring look – super simple to navigate, hugely successful.

Google Search – Again, very simple and not the most appealing when it comes to appearance.

TechCrunch – Simple!

Twitter – Doesn’t take a Rocket Scientist to create an account and become an avid tweeter.

Seth Godin’s books – Simple and delivers a very clear message.

Have you considered your site or the development of it in simplistic terms?

Could it be you are over-thinking, over-complicating the process?

There are so many cases where people are not achieving what they want because they complicate everything from the very beginning. They think too much, and have a serious case of the ‘buts.’ When you remove the ‘but’ from your entire thought process you leave yourself open to achieve success faster and better.

It’s the same for online business. When you hear someone complaining that their squeeze pages are not converting – take a peek and observe the potential problem areas. In many cases you will see lots of clutter and in the majority of those cases the clutter will be entirely unrelated.

If you keep your squeeze page simple, straight and to the point you can almost count on an increased conversion rate.

What are some of the ways you can simplify your site?

  1. Just finished a blog post on how simpler photos almost always have more immediate visual and emotional impact. Writing is the same-eliminating extraneous words makes an article stronger. It is not difficult to see the application to web sites. Visual and audio and motion clutter do nothing but distract a visitor from the main reason for the site’s existence.
