Freelance Writing Jobs for April 20, 2011

CVGood morning, everyone!

What are the things that get you down and hinder your productivity? For me, right now, it’s the heat. We’re only hitting 31 degrees Celsius (88 Fahrenheit), but the humidity is sapping all my energy away. Whatever it is that may be contributing to your mid-week slump, I hope this quote goes a long way.

There are two kinds of people, those who do the work and those who take the credit. Try to be in the first group; there is less competition there. – Indira Gandhi

Comments

  1. Thanks for the list. However, there are some ads 1) asking for upfront fee, 2) and Suite 101 and 3) no pay.

    • Noemi Twigg says:

Kenna, could you let me know which these ads are so I can remove them? Sometimes they slip by me. Thank you.

  2. The iPod/iPhone/iPad writer position wants 2 articles a day for $150 a month. That amounts to $3.75 an article.

That’s the type of stuff that should be filtered out before making it onto the list.

    • Dan, feel like spending 3-4 hours/day writing the job leads? Sorry if we aren’t always perfect, while delivering a free service to the readers.

I’m sure that even at that rate there are applicants. Not everyone lives in the US or does the job for money. Many among us started writing as a leisure occupation, earning a buck on the side. FWJ caters to everyone.

Having looked at the iPad/iPhone app, and being both interested and versed in that area, let me also add that it is very easy to post that type of content in around 20 minutes per entry, which results in a fee of more than $11/hour.
In that area often research is minimal for interested writers since most already try out tons of apps every day anyway.

  3. Just want to say thanks to Noemi and the others who post gigs to the jobs board, this website is informative as well as a great place for freelancers, seasoned and green, to find a comprehensive list of gigs. If a few aren’t what I’m interested in (a fee to start, Suite 101) thank gosh I have the faculties to leave that site and search to find a more fitting prospect. No complaints here!

    Thanks again!!
