Freelance Writing Jobs for April 27, 2011

CVGood morning! Is anyone looking forward to watching the Royal Wedding on Friday? It seems my Twitter/Facebook feed is all about this event.

Anyhow, here is our mid-week quote from none other than Thomas Jefferson:

Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.

May we all have the right mental attitude!

Comments

  1. Jeff says:

WOW, these people are looking to pay GARBAGE rates for professionals!

    How immensely frustrating!!!

  2. Kenna McHugh says:

Jeff, Yes, some of it is frustrating and takes some sorting to find the publisher who pays professional rates.
    Thanks for the list!

  3. jennifer gregory says:

I agree….some of the compensation would be a joke were it not so frustrating. I think some of those looking to hire writers believe writing somehow falls out of the sky and lands on the page, complete with excellent research and grammar. And of course, we’re all so happy to get it done for 10 bucks just so we can ‘write’!

I found one writing gig recently, not on this site, that paid $1.00 per hour….and another, wanting a ghost writer for a fiction/non fiction(?) crime novel for under $250.00!

I cannot imagine any other profession willing to tolerate such deplorable rates!

I mean, can you imagine an attorney, or a physician????
    ’nuff said.

  4. Brock Cooper says:

The reviewer Craigslist ad is a scam. I e-mailed it and within 30 seconds got an e-mail back with all this information about reviews. I looked up Jeff Walton and Constant Content and found a number of complaints.

Walton is in no way affiliated with Constant Content and gets a referral fee for every person that signs up. Beware. If I am wrong and someone has a positive story about it, let me know.
