How come there are so few jobs lately? Is there nothing out there becasue of summer or too busy to search? Some of the copycats have more jobs. Thought you should know.

Deb has recently increased the job postings to five days a week from three. This means that when I search for leads that I am not going back a couple of days at a time. Lately, there are a lot of full-time, salaried positions being posted. I have been asked to post freelance opportunities only. I also try to weed out the ones that pay less than $10 and since Deb writes about blogging for About.com and posts leads there, I don’t include blogging jobs. The copycat sites - as you call them - may have different criteria for posting leads. I have noticed that some of them are including posts that I have already published.
I hope this helps….

Jodee’s doing a great job, plus she’ll be adding blogging jobs soon too!

Summer is slow, particularly this one. Another challenge is the closure of some pubs, employers with other work look to them first before seeking new writers.

Deb — do you still continue to post blogging jobs on your About.com site? I haven’t seen them there in a bit and see that Jodee will be adding them here. Just curious.

Hi Wendy,
I will be adding them again. I had to take a couple of weeks off from trolling the job boards because my son is home for the summer and we’ve been out doing summer stuff. Expect to see more regular blogging jobs listings at about in the next week or two.
Jodee will post some here as well.
Best,
Deb

Hey Deb — I figured it was just a case of your summer schedule, but wanted to check. I’m looking for another celebrity blog to take on for extra money. Can’t beat the fun of reporting on the latest celeb news
I will check back in a week or two at About. Thanks!
