Freelance Writing Jobs for Tuesday, April 8, 2008
Good morning FWJers! There is a good mix on the job leads this morning. I’ve got blogging gigs (one is for an adult blogger), copywriting opportunities, and some editing jobs. I would have to say that the most interesting one for today is the Copywriter for Pop Culture Web Site one. (Yes, I am old enough to remember Witchie-Poo, the Bee Gees, and the Six Million Dollar Man. I wonder if the expression giving someone “the eye” came from that series…) If anyone wants to apply for it, the answer to the bonus question is Oscar Goldman (the Six Million Dollar Man’s boss).

I applied for the website reviewer job a couple days ago. There’s been a HUGE string of jobs at Online Writing Jobs from people who then tell you you must enroll with their website to “familiarize” yourself with the job. This one requires you to join a dating site and then they spam you with all kinds of garbage.
April 8th, 2008 at 7:59 pmI sent an email to the Pop Culture Website but I haven’t heard anything back. Apparently they’re going for a hip version of Wikipedia.

April 8th, 2008 at 10:53 pmPlease remove our Criagslist ad for freelancers (the ad for Editors For Students). We need to open and close job searches on a schedule that is convenient for us, and we also need to know where our job searches are working most effectively (plus, we’re looking for editors, not writers. The two skill sets are often quite different, we’ve found. Anyhow, please take our ad down.
