Humor Break

Well, I just lost cable for a while, which put me in a foul, foul mood. I think it’s time for a humor break.

Here are some fun places to find examples of bad writing:

Update 12/8/07 - I found this link to some more fun places while visiting One Step Forward.

    Deb,

It’s terrible when an internet lifeline goes out.

Though a quick repair is the best option, consider locating a neaby Panera Bread or other free wifi spot (or if you really need it, a spot where you pay a little) that will also let you use a phone (so libraries are out).

More than once I’ve had to go to my satellite office at Dunkin Donuts (local one has free wifi) to conduct an interview (when I needed Internet access, too) or file an article on deadline. With a headset, cell and laptop, it’s nearly as good as being here except when things get very busy (and noisy).

I had to stop reading the bad headlines. I was laughing so hard I was crying and my stomach was hurting! I was making the kids & the dog a little nervous.

    Thanks for the laughs!

You know it’s funny. It snowed in VT Monday, and I’m close to the lake so we got lake effect snow on Tuesday and Wednesday. Yesterday was supposed to be sunny, but again the clouds stayed. Today is cloudy too and more snow is supposed to hit tonight. In a nutshell, I hate snow. I’d love it if it would come with warm weather, but that doesn’t happen. So in the winter, I will venture outside for my mile walk, but that’s it.

So yesterday with all these 2 inch dustings of snow the roads suck. A milk truck goes off the road next to my house. His getting stuck prompted them to shut off things at the power pole for about an hour while they tried to free him from the ditch on the corner. That meant, no satellite TV, no internet, no heat :-( Life in general really sucked. I ended up reading a book wrapped up in blankets instead.

But now the weird funny part, my dad called to complain that his satellite TV had gone out. Sure enough when I had power again, our DishNetwork was out too for a while. I wonder if there wasn’t some conspiracy out there keeping people from normal habits. I think I could live without the TV, relying only on my stereo for entertainment, but the internet and power - those outages always drive me mad. They cost money!

Having just endured the first few snows of the season, I’ve discovered my cell phone service no longer works in my basement apartment when it’s snowing. So, I had to relocate to the back yard at 10pm last night to chat with one of the attorneys I’m writing for.

I love the quotation marks blog, Deb. I haven’t had a chance to visit some of the others, but I’ll be sure to stop back to this post and make my rounds next time I’m feeling grumpy.

The headlines were too funny! :D

Oh, and now I feel smart–I scored an A- on the vocabulary. Finally, an ego boost. lol
