Hi and stuff. So all day yesterday I’m walking around with the feeling I forgot something. What can it be? I remembered at about 3:00 a.m. Leads. I forgot to post the leads. I’m one of those people who always need reminders. My Outlook is set to ping during certain times to tell me what to do next. During this time of year so many employers are looking for internships, but most are only looking for free labor. It’s sad in this day and age there are unsavory people looking to take advantage of students or others looking to break into a particular industry. I took a day off today from my job as Community Manager at BlogTalkRadio. It’s spring break and I thought it would be nice to have a mom/kid day. I think some folks find working at home to be a great way to spend time with kids, and it is, but it’s also difficult to balance the day and the job. Happy birthday, Mom! I mentioned this a few days back, but I’m noticing a definite trend in better paying freelance writing jobs. For instance, with blogging jobs. There was a depressing tendency towards really, really low paying blogs. $1 a post or only half-assed rev shares. What I like now is that I’m seeing bigger payouts. $20 to $30 per blog post even. Here’s some interesting food for thought: My first paid blogging gig wasn’t for a blog network. It was for a major cable women’s network and I was paid $500 for 200 words a week. That’s $500 for 800 words a month. Nowadays, of course, most blog networks are struggling.
