One of the reasons I enjoy going to conferences such as BlogWorld is the opportunity to give and receive feedback. I chatted with several members of the FWJ community at this year’s conference, and they gave me good food for thought. Feedback is good. Feedback is important. Even the stuff we don’t want to hear is an opportunity to improve. I may not always like what people say about FWJ but that doesn’t mean I don’t take it into consideration. Who’s Going to BlogWorld?

I’m attending the BlogWorld and New Media Expo for the third year in a row. The first year I was nervous and didn’t know what to expect. I’m sort of shy when it comes to meeting people and BlogWorld ’07 was the first time I traveled alone. How Much Time Do You Spend on Social Media and Social Networking Promotion?

If you know me, you know I spend lots of time on Twitter. I also spend time at various other social networking and social media sites and forums. When I first began working from home, social networking was a way to stave off loneliness as I was missing the camaraderie from my office jobs. Now, I find it an absolute must if I want to turn others on to my blog posts and podcasts. I spend at least a good hour each day visiting different social networking sites to chat or share links. Even though the BlogWorld and New Media Expo official conference begins today, there was no shortage of learning and schmoozing yesterday. I met some of my blogging friends yesterday and renewed old acquaintances. It was good to hang out with David Peralty. We’re speaking together today and yesterday we got to know each other and share ideas. While hanging out in the lounge we met up with the always enthusiastic and very friendly John Chow.
