Weekend Link Love for April 10th, 2008

Moms!

I want to thank everyone for making our guest bloggers feel so welcome. Guest blogging month will continue - and there’s still time if you’re interested.

…and speaking of Guest Blogging, I’ll be guest blogging at Liz Strauss’ Successful Blog next week with a series "What I Learned from Freelancing." Do stop by and visit with Liz’ kind community.

I also want to wish all my fellow moms a Happy Mother’s Day. Take a day for yourself!

Here’s what I’m reading this weekend:

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

- Deb

Thanks for the link, Deb, and for the others as well. There were actually a couple I’d missed reading this week!

    Oh, and happy Mother’s Day.

  2. Frugal Dad Says:

Great roundup this week! I’ve just recently entered the freelance writing game and an eager to put this great advice into practice. In fact, my first proposal was accepted by a major publisher and I am now working on the final manuscript. Hopefully, with these ideas I’ll be able to increase my acceptance rate over time.

  3. Fiona Says:

Deb, I’ve really been enjoying the guest blogger posts so far. I’ve picked up some great tips and some wonderful new websites to visit.

  4. Adam Says:

Likewise; I think the guest blogging was a great idea! It’s wonderful to get a wide range of ideas from people with different backgrounds.

I notice in “9 essential tools for practical freelance writing” the author mentions open office is great because it allows you to make PDF files without owning a full copy of acrobat explorer.

If you’re addicted to MS word, or some other word processor but still want to make free and easy PDF files, do a Google search for a program called “Cute PDF writer.”

It’s as easy to use as printing a document.

@Deb - You and your lemmings are all dumb clucks. You go on and on about the most trite B.S. I have ever seen and then congratulate each other about how brilliant it all is. Some of these gues bloggers have written such garbage it’s a shame to waste the space to print it.

    Get over yourselves!!!!

  7. CDW Says:

Hilarious double-standard image. If it said, “Dads: They’re Like Moms, Only Smarter!” you’d never post it. Some of these are great links - pity they’re right alongside such a snobby image.

  8. Laura Spencer Says:

    Hi Deb!

Thanks for the link love to my post on Freelance Folder. I LOVE the image. I guess it’s one of those things you get, or you don’t.

As for the guest bloggers, keep it up!

  9. Brandi Says:

@Adam: I would second Cute PDF Writer over using Open Office as a substitute. Despite claims, OO isn’t entirely compatible and isn’t “just like” Office. I’d much rather buy the Office Suite and use the PDF Writer.

  10. Brian Nelson Says:

Thanks for the list of links. I’ve been to most of these sites before, but Confident Writer was new to me. Always nice to find more good stuff out there.

I will be expecting a cool graphic for us DADS come Father’s Day :)
