Thanks for the link, Deb, and for the others as well. There were actually a couple I’d missed reading this week!
Oh, and happy Mother’s Day.
May 11th, 2008 at 11:14 amGreat roundup this week! I’ve just recently entered the freelance writing game and an eager to put this great advice into practice. In fact, my first proposal was accepted by a major publisher and I am now working on the final manuscript. Hopefully, with these ideas I’ll be able to increase my acceptance rate over time.
May 11th, 2008 at 1:26 pmDeb, I’ve really been enjoying the guest blogger posts so far. I’ve picked up some great tips and some wonderful new websites to visit.
May 11th, 2008 at 1:31 pmLikewise; I think the guest blogging was a great idea! It’s wonderful to get a wide range of ideas from people with different backgrounds.
May 11th, 2008 at 2:44 pmI notice in “9 essential tools for practical freelance writing” the author mentions open office is great because it allows you to make PDF files without owning a full copy of acrobat explorer.
If you’re addicted to MS word, or some other word processor but still want to make free and easy PDF files, do a Google search for a program called “Cute PDF writer.”
It’s as easy to use as printing a document.
May 11th, 2008 at 3:11 pm@Deb - You and your lemmings are all dumb clucks. You go on and on about the most trite B.S. I have ever seen and then congratulate each other about how brilliant it all is. Some of these gues bloggers have written such garbage it’s a shame to waste the space to print it.
Get over yourselves!!!!
May 11th, 2008 at 4:16 pmHilarious double-standard image. If it said, “Dads: They’re Like Moms, Only Smarter!” you’d never post it. Some of these are great links - pity they’re right alongside such a snobby image.
May 11th, 2008 at 6:01 pmHi Deb!
Thanks for the link love to my post on Freelance Folder. I LOVE the image. I guess it’s one of those things you get, or you don’t.
As for the guest bloggers, keep it up!
May 11th, 2008 at 8:19 pm@Adam: I would second Cute PDF Writer over using Open Office as a substitute. Despite claims, OO isn’t entirely compatible and isn’t “just like” Office. I’d much rather buy the Office Suite and use the PDF Writer.
May 12th, 2008 at 8:15 amThanks for the list of links. I’ve been to most of these sites before, but Confident Writer was new to me. Always nice to find more good stuff out there.
I will be expecting a cool graphic for us DADS come Father’s Day
