Hi folks. I’d like to apologize for linking to guidelines (Freelance Writing Jobs from February 8th) from a place that is not hiring freelancers at this time. I received a note from the editor yesterday and she’d like me to pass on to you that she is not hiring freelancers at this time.
If my e-mail traffic is any indicator, a lot of freelancers are reading your blog & site. A LOT. While we do have writers’ guidelines on our site, we are not looking for new freelancers right now. In addition to our staff writers, we do have great freelancers who work with us, so we don’t need new folks currently, and most especially don’t need pitches, which tend to be too general and not right for a publication that writes to employers, not employees. If you would share that with your readers & users, I’d really appreciate it. So would they–it will save them getting one of the "no thanks" letters I’m sending out in large quantities. If the situation changes, I promise to let you know, and give some specifics on what we do and don’t want from freelancers.
I apologize for the inconvenience.
– Deb
