The goal of the resume critiquing program is to provide the candidate with useful, constructive information. We’ve billed this to attendees as an opportunity to receive helpful advice–and we do not want to be accused of making false promises, which has happened when a resume coach is harshly critical or uses the full five minutes to sell their own services. While we encourage you mention your services and provide them with follow-up contact information, it’s essential to give them some specific tips and feedback during this brief interaction.
Ideally, it would be great for you to provide each person with a one-pager or pamphlet that offers standard resume tips. (It will definitely cut down on some of the repetition!) This material is also a great place to provide information about your services, including a contact number or email address. Many coaches receive referral business through this method.
