What you get
— A company with a 25-year track record of stability.
— A great group of team members, literally around the world, who work together on our publications, our consulting and our conferences.
— Decent pay. Always. On time. In 24 years-plus, we’ve never missed a payroll or paid late. You submit your invoices, you get paid. (For freelancers, that’s like gold.)
— Interesting work in a somewhat off-the-beaten-path, b-to-b environment.
— Work from home (WFH) with extreme flexibility.
— Payment per article or in some cases payment on retainer.
What we expect
— Someone who is reliable, dependable, willing to learn and is a pleasure to work with.
— Writers who are absolutely proficient in English. (If it’s your second language, or fourth, that’s great, but your English writing should be flawless.)
— Someone who will develop a beat, whether it’s geographic or vertical-specific (recruitment, real estate or automotive), and consistently build relationships with sources.
— Someone with a global perspective. Just because you’re in Germany doesn’t mean your sources have to be in Germany. They can be anywhere, and should be.
— Great reporting and interviewing skills, with an ability to track down people and get them to talk.
— Someone who’s aggressive about finding new sources, whether they are individuals, companies or data, and working with them to develop great reports.
We think long-term. Some of our writers have been with us for 10 years or more. Our managing director joined us as a writer nearly 20 years ago. It’ll take you at least three months to get proficient in your domain, and a year until you can grow into one of our rock stars. But we’re patient, and if you work with us we’ll work with you.
