Centific is currently looking for a talented and experienced technical writer specialized in customer technical user manuals for the pet products/furniture/electronic products field to join our company.
Job description:
– Finding source materials and files for clients’ documentation.
– Researching, drafting, editing, and producing new project content.
– Independently conducting communications with manufacturers to gather enough information to create and edit new project content. This would include checking with them any doubts regarding reference material provided (such as user manuals, reference images and technical drawings).
– Gathering technical information to be used in the documentation process and ensuring pre-defined guidelines are correctly followed.
– Updating/Revamping client’s technical content already written.
– Taking ownership of content for all assigned projects including quality assurance, file management and writing.
– Providing accurate, complete, and well written content that all end users can understand.
– In case the produced source material is localized, collaborating with localization vendors if further information, background context or technical knowledge is needed.
Main requirements:
– English native speaker.
– Degree in English, Journalism or Communication and proven experience in technical background (preferably in technical documentation, instructions for the end-user, User Manuals and Assistance Guides for the fields of pet products/furniture/electronic products).
– Excellent technical writing skills, ideally proven through Technical Knowledge and Writing Certification.
– Technical editing and formatting background, with experience in file management software.
– Knowledge in software tools as Adobe InDesign and image processing will be an asset.
