Just a quick FYI folks. When bouncing around the web this morning I saw plenty of misspelled and misused words. I’m the first to admit that my spelling lacks perfection (spelling trauma as a kid in school) however, there are some 100% inexcusable misused word issues that should not be showing up in your posts. Such as…
“Your too good for this.” – Nope, it’s “You’re.”
“Its good for all sorts of stuff!” – This should be “It’s.” It’s vs. Its can be confusing I know, but this is so simple that it just looks bad. Think of “It’s” as is “It is.”
“In my next blog, I’ll be writing about bacon!” – Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! It’s post! Post, not blog. For goodness sake. Why make me nuts this early in the morning? Really? Are you starting a new blog tomorrow? No, you’re just writing another POST.
All of these mistakes came from blogs belonging to folks who also said, “I’m a problogger.” Well…
In any case I’m not a grammar or spelling queen. In fact what I am queen of is going back to read one of my posts later on and seeing that I made some lame mistake with an s. Like, “All those pumpkin look good.” – Um where’s the s?
That said, some mistakes go a little too far. Make sure you read and re-read before you hit publish. The little mistakes look way worse than most big ones to me. If you misspell Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, lord, I just don’t care. But misuse “You’re” and I likely won’t be back.
Maybe it’s time to get some help…
